Great Beginnings

When Florida Atlantic University steps onto the new football stadium for the first time against Western Kentucky throw away the records. Both teams have struggled so far this season. This will be a game that will be celebrated no matter the outcome. The game is ten years of hard work in the making. We can thank Howard Schnellenberger, the administration, and three university presidents.

The game will be the beginnings to many new great traditions for the university that could help the university achieve great things in the future. Pre-game festivities that will include an Owl Prowl that starts the team, band, and cheerleaders at the South End of the Breezeway through the student tailgate area then onto the stadium. An Owl flying similar to the War Eagle at Auburn to midfield to start the game. The Rat's Mouth which is the student tailgating area that will be planted in the middle of campus and maybe bring a little of Ole Miss's grove to Boca Raton.

Saturday will not be about who wins or loses a FAU win would be nice, but the stadium, athletes, students, Schnellenberger, and alumnus finally get their day of glory. This is the step UCF needed as university to start to become to the forefront of Florida Universities and this may be the start of that for FAU. If you are attending take in the moments and emotions of not only the game, but everything leading up to it.
